Open Letter to Rush Limbaugh

Dear Mr. Limbaugh,

Thank you for once again showing yourself as the heartless hate-monger that your misguided fans have admired for so many years. It never fails - when people are hurting or lost or confused, this is when you jump to the forefront, spreading your vicious hatred, judgment, prejudice, and contempt for anyone who doesn’t share your political beliefs, or your skin-color for that matter.

The highly evolved people in our society are those who feel and share compassion during difficult times. So on the evolutionary scale; you are in the minus marks. But you have certainly found your niche in this hurting world. You saw that there was a market or class of people that wanted a spokesperson, so you put your big, obnoxious mouth to the radio microphone so that all the compassionless people in America no longer had to feel ashamed or contrite for lacking a sense of common decency for their fellow humans. And in the process, you earned big bucks for being a talkative jerk. How proud of yourself you much feel, gloating all the way to the bank. Only a scavenger feeds off the suffering of others, so when you look in the mirror, do you not see the face of a buzzard looking back at you?

I may not know much, and I’ve even said before that I may know nothing at all. But I have been to the gates of heaven, and I can tell you what is and isn’t there.
Hatred is not there.
Judgement is not there.
Anger is not there.
Self-righteousness is not there.
Human ego is not there.
Lines of distinction (political or otherwise) are not there.
And money is also lacking.
Can’t you see… all the things that you so greatly value have absolutely no meaning in the hereafter?

What is there is Love, Compassion, Peace, Acceptance, Joy, and Forgiveness. What is also there is the recognition that we are all equal - that no soul is loved more or less than another.

Rush, you are not getting any younger and your health has not been good for some time. Isn’t it time you got in touch with your soul – the part of you that will live on after your aging body draws its last breath? Isn’t it time you got to know the God within – the God who loves His children unconditionally? Isn’t it time you stopped sowing hatred and tried sowing some of those compassion-filled fruits of the spirit that Jesus so eloquently spoke of in his Sermon on the Mount?

Rush, your days here are numbered – very numbered. Isn’t it time to become a better person, instead of a scavenger picking the bones of the sick, injured, and hurting souls who are connected to you in ways your narrow-mind cannot even comprehend?

I hope so.

Somewhat Respectfully,

Cynthia
